Speak at a City Council meeting about an agenda item

Request to speak

Speak to City Council about agenda items on upcoming meetings:

  • Standing committee meetings
  • Regular Council meetings
    • For agenda items on regular Council meetings, Council must agree to hear speakers. If Council agrees, the item is moved to an upcoming standing committee meeting usually on the next day.
  • Special Council meetings

The deadline to sign up is the start of the meeting

You can sign up as soon as the agenda is announced, usually one week before the meeting.

No requests are taken after the meeting starts.

In your request, tell us:

  1. Your full name
  2. The date and type of meeting you want to speak at
  3. The agenda item number and title you want to speak about

  Email your request 

Or phone in your request to 3-1-1.

Send your comments at least one day before the meeting so we can share it with Council.
