West 22nd Avenue water main replacement project

The City will be replacing the water distribution main along W 22nd Avenue between MacDonald Street and Trafalgar Street. The mains have reached the end of service life and replacing the mains will provide to install a larger capacity main to serve the neighbourhood.

  • Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm (unless overtime is required due to unforeseen circumstances)

Impacts to residents

Traffic in West 22nd Avenue will be reduced or closed off in the project area. Residents access will be maintained throughout construction.

Local parking will be affected by the presence of work trailers and construction equipment. Parking restrictions will be removed as soon as they no longer needed.

How this project will improve the city

This project will improve the water main in this neighbourhood. Once replaced, the pipes are expected to serve the neighbourhood for another 100 years.
