Sunday afternoons in August from 3:00pm to 5:30pm on the Great Lawn

Pack a blanket and bring your friends to VanDusen Botanical Garden for Social Sundays this August!  Our line-up of summer sounds, signature cocktails, and lawn games will get you grooving on Sunday afternoons from 3:00pm to 5:30pm.

Live music and activities are included free with garden admission.

Truffles café will be in the garden serving hot roast sandwiches, salads, macarons, juices, wine, beer, and a signature garden cocktail! This is an all ages event, but ID is required for liquor purchase.

Performance schedule

August 6: Paul Filek Band

A former Canadian Idol contestant, Paul Filek (80s and 90s covers) is one of the main artists for hotels, casinos, and special events.

Paul delivers high-energy, fun, and engaging live performances.

August 13: Coldwater Road

Coldwater Road (50s era with folk and country) rich in harmonies. Coldwater Road is folk music with a reason to dance.

Drifting between delicate waltzes and foot-stomping murder ballads, live performances are like the Avett Bro's meets Paul Simon.

August 20: Company B Jazz Band

Company B Jazz Band  (20s and 40s era), a Vancouver-based 6-piece group in the style of the Andrews and Boswell Sisters, rouses crowds for dancing and smiles with their cheerful renditions of classic repertoire from the 1920s through to 1940s.

Loaded with personality, the harmonies of the female vocal trio are well-complemented by top-notch instrumentalists. The band makes it their mission to capture the style and the spirit of the music of the first half of the 20th century, but there is also an undeniable youth and freshness to their sound and their stage presence.

August 27: Day Trippers

The Day Trippers (60s and 70s) are a Vancouver based Beatles tribute band that transport you back to the touring days of the early 1960s.

The band embodies the exuberance of the early 1960s spirit that the Beatles brought to the stage. Inspired by the mod culture and a love of blues and pop music, The Day Trippers deliver the incredible music of The Beatles at their energetic peak.
