Pandora Park children's water spray park
The Vancouver Park Board wants to replace the existing wading pool in Pandora Park with a children's water spray park. We expect construction to begin later this fall.
Meanwhile, the existing wading pool will be open for use all summer 2014.
Prioritizing needed upgrades to Pandora Park
Ten years ago the Park Board consulted with the community to prioritize needed upgrades to Pandora Park including:
- a new children’s playground
- park entry enhancements and plantings
- a mid-park walkway at Garden Drive
- additional lawn and picnic areas
Capital funding has been secured for the children’s water spray park and associated park improvements, and a landscape architecture firm has been hired to work with the community to develop a preferred concept plan.
Find out what we heard in the design concepts questionnaire
Thanks to all 108 people who shared their thoughts on the proposed design concepts for Pandora Park and gave input on the planned children's water spray park in our online questionnaire during May 30 to June 13, 2014.
The majority preferred option B and support is strongest for the proposal to add a path to connect the east and west sides of the park.
The feedback we heard will help us gauge the level of support for the two concept options and select popular features to include in the new spray park.
