Tree-related inspection

Tree trunk

Construction activities often impact trees and hedges.

The Protection of Trees bylaw spells out the steps that must be taken to reduce that impact, such as putting up tree barriers around trees that will remain or replacing trees that will be taken down.

A tree-related inspection will check that the tree barriers are the right size, or that the tree removal / replacement was done properly.

Note: Tree barriers must be in place before demolition or deconstruction of a building.

  2. Make sure that someone on site knows the case number so that they can give it to the inspector if the inspector shows up at the original time. This will help you avoid being charged a re-inspection fee.

If you do not cancel before the cancellation deadline, you may have to pay a re-inspection fee when you re-book.
